The Land Rover G4 Challenge is a global adventure competition, and as the successor to the Camel Trophy, it has off-road driving at its core. Although the 2009 Challenge was cancelled, vehicles were still prepared for the main event.
The 2009 Discovery 3 vehicles were decked out similarly to previous Challenge vehicles with the distinctive Tangiers Orange paintwork, but with new body decals emphasizing the G4 Challenge’s new association with the Red Cross, a special roof rack with spot lamps, a front bumper winch, light guards and a raised air intake along with all the usual “HSE” specification luxuries. 68 Land Rover Discovery 3 models were created for this.
This particular vehicle is number 11 of the 68 cars built and was produced on 08/05/2008. This vehicle was used for the UK selections at Eastnor Castle and was sold off minus a few parts and some decals on 26/05/2009 showing 1106 miles on the odometer and then purchased by the current owner in October of 2016 with 97,000 miles covered.
The current owner has spent many hours sourcing the missing original decals and parts and now the vehicle is in the full original specification including all correct decals, plaques and it even has the correct Orange winch cable.
The owner of the vehicle is a previous chairman of the Land Rover G4 Owners Club and has a collection of history and memorabilia from the event and has maintained this rare vehicle at no expense spared. The car is in great condition, however, some lacquer peel has started on the bonnet.
Along with the G4 extras, this car has all the HSE specification options and luxuries such as air suspension, Terrain Response Control, full heated black leather interior, cruise control, satellite navigation, an automatic gearbox and is powered by the 2.7-litre V6 turbo diesel engine.
Please note that the canoe and bicycle are not included with the sale but extra accessories are negotiable.
This rare and well-presented Land Rover is being advertised on behalf of a client and is located near Ely, Cambridgeshire. Viewing is strictly by appointment only. If you would like to know about this exceptional vehicle, please do get in touch on +44 (0) 7388 328 229.
