The Ferrari 308 GTS was originally launched in 1975 and it was the direct replacement for the 246 Dino but followed the same simple formula that has since stuck with this series of Ferrari sportscar right up to the present. 2 seats, rear-driven and with a mid-mounted engine. Displacement and aspiration may have varied over the years but the fundamentals have very much stayed the same. This is because the layout has proven time and time again to be the most enjoyable experience for the driver. Near perfect balance and weight distribution, direct steering and a sensational soundtrack right behind the occupants’ head.
The 308 GTS is no exception here. With a 2.9-litre V8 engine tuned to deliver around 240 bhp directly to the rear wheels via a dog-legged manual gearbox. Being a later GTS Quattrovalvole, this particular example has the Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection and 4 valves per cylinder. Apart from this and some minor cosmetic updates, the GTS QV remained very similar to the original 308 GTS from launch.
This fabulous Nero Black model was originally delivered to the USA in 1983 and it was sourced and imported to Europe by its current owner in 2014. This is an all-original car with matching numbers, original interior and it has covered just 49,000 fully documented miles.
As part of a larger private collection, this wonderfully maintained Ferrari is ready to be passed on to a new custodian.
