Originally laughed in 1979, the Mercedes Geländewagen, or G-wagon as it is more commonly known, was Mercedes’ answer to the Land Rover Defender. The G-class features body-on-frame construction and an immediately recognisable box-shaped design. This particular vehicle has spent most of its life doing exactly what it was built for, hard labour on the farm – but don’t be fooled by its rugged and well-aged exterior, this truck has been well maintained and looked after and it’s 3-litre inline 5 Diesel engine stills pulls as well as it did 35 years ago.
Featuring 4-wheel-drive and 3 fully locking differentials, the G-Class has an almost unrivalled off-road ability.
This particular G-wagon is finished in blue with a wonderful tartan interior in its completely original specification, including the radio cassette player and is ready to collect and use as intended right away and with no body or mechanical issues it would make a great everyday runabout. Alternatively, with a little light restoration, this would make a great addition to anyone’s modern classic collection. With only 7 registered G300s on the road in the UK, these original vehicles are becoming harder and harder to find.
