Designed by Pininfarina and built to celebrate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary, the Ferrari F40 was the perfect combination of sophisticated high-performance running gear combined with a class-leading chassis that created a unique and incredibly dynamic driving experience that is usually only available in a race car.
The Ferrari F40 first rolled off the production line in 1987 and instantly became the poster car for just about every car enthusiast. The F40 was the final car to be produced under the direction of Enzo Ferrari, so it was so fitting for it to be possibly one of the most iconic cars ever built and also the most profitable car in the Italian Manufacturers history.
The twin-turbocharged V8 is the same as the one used in the 288 GTO but a slightly larger capacity from 2,855cc to 2,936cc which gives the F40 a 20% power increase over the previous car. The output of the F40 is 478bhp at 7,000rpm. This incredible power is mated to a manual gearbox and the whole drivetrain is housed in the Ferrari’s super low-weight carbon fibre body. All this combined with some race engineered suspension, ultra-wide sticky tyres and industry-leading aerodynamics mean that the F40 can launch itself from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds and keep pulling all the way to 201mph. This makes it the first road car to break the 200mph barrier.
This particular car is a 1990 original Rosso Corsa car with just 2 owners from new (last owner since 1994) and is a non-cat and non adjust vehicle. The car has been regularly serviced and comes with an extensive history file.
The Ferrari F40 is still one of the most recognisable cars in the world and this is a fabulous opportunity to not only own a piece of supercar history, but this is also an incredibly attractive investment opportunity. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a rare and desirable car with such a low number of previous owners.
