The Virage Volante was first introduced 2 years after its coupe sister was first launched and featured a 5.3-litre V8 engine that produced 330bhp and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Being a convertible, some body strengthening was introduced over the coupe version which may have added some weight and reduced the top speed to just 150mph, but the overall elegance and grace of the convertible more than made up for these changes.
This particular Virage was produced by Aston Martin’s Works division in the popular ‘wide-body’ specification that originated from the 6.3-litre version of the Virage. Featuring instantly noticeable wide arches and deep-dish split-rim OZ alloy wheels.
With fewer than 50 of the works-built wide-body Virage Volantes being produced by Aston Martin, this wonderful low-mileage example is the perfect addition to any collectors stable. Finished in Midnight Blue with Parchment hide upholstery with dark blue piping, this Aston Martin is in excellent condition throughout and has recently benefitted from a recent service and remedial works including new discs and pads, a new radiator, full alloy wheel refurbishment and the hydraulic roof mechanism has also been serviced. All of this is well documented along with the car’s service history in an extensive owner’s file.
