Launched in 1990, the BMW 8-series was BMWs flagship grand tourer throughout the whole of the nineties and with its pop-up headlights, long shark-like body and (for the time) spaceship-like interior, it was a proper contender to take on the likes of Jaguar, Mercedes and Porsche.
This striking black 840Ci is a later model with the 4.4-litre M62 V8 mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The car has recently benefitted from a few upgrades and improvements including new suspension bushes, new lowering suspension springs, new shock absorbers, new BMW brake calipers, refurbished and ceramic coated wheels and a new stainless exhaust system. As you can see from the images, there is some light rust appearing in the rear arches on both sides of the car, however, the seller has said that this can be repaired for the sale.
With its black exterior and very clean grey leather interior, this is a great opportunity for someone to purchase an almost-original BMW 8-series which is getting harder and harder these days. We say almost original, as the exhaust system and lowering springs are aftermarket options. As you can see from the interior images, the inside is as it was when it left the factory in 1998.
